19km, 6 hours.
Another placeholder post because we hit Methven this night. Which meant a resupply, showers, washing and the best of all we had a whole house to ourselves so we all cooked steaks and roast veggies and salad together like a family and it was simply lovely!
We were so excited to find shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom and new razors that all of us girls availed ourselves of in much delight. It wasn't until I was sitting up at 10 did 6 Fijian guy workers come in that actually live in one of the rooms we didn't know about, did i then realise we had used all their bathroom items. I quickly snuck off to bed...
The walk out from Hamilton Hut to Harpers Road was very straightforward as far as our days have been concerned so it was nice to have a day where we didn't really need to concentrate so hard and you could really enjoy the scenery that went from being up in mountains to out in a river amidst a backdrop of all these round individual mountains. I felt very much like i was back in the Canterbury I remembered and loved.
